Wild Flowers
The local area is host to a very rich variety of wildflowers in widely diverse habitats, some of the rarest wildflowers in Spain can be found here. While the Sierra Alpujarra comprises only 0.4% of Spains surface area almost 30% of the floral population of the Spanish Peninsular grows here, a great combination for botanists, gardeners and others who enjoy beautiful and rare wildflowers, bring your camera and a notebook!
From trekking to bird watching, mountain biking to horse riding, botanising to cross country skiing, the Sierra Alpujarra provides a long list of outdoor pursuits, together with the opportunity to relax and potter in a calm, uncluttered environment, all within easy reach of the splendid Moorish capital of Granada and the sun drenched beaches of the meditteranean.
